America’s Warrior Partnership Aims to Empower Veterans and Improve Lives

“We’re proud to partner with TriWest – an organization that shares our deep commitment to Veterans’ health and well-being. Together, we are closing gaps in care, expanding community connections, and ensuring that Veterans have access to comprehensive support.” — Jim Lorraine, President and CEO of America’s Warrior Partnership

America’s Warrior Partnership (AWP) is making big strides to improve the lives of Veterans across the United States – and TriWest Healthcare Alliance (TriWest) is proud to help enhance that mission.

The non-profit strives to empower Veterans, empower communities, and improve and save Veterans’ lives.

“Our approach is holistic and community-driven,” said Jim Lorraine, President and CEO of America’s Warrior Partnership. “We meet Veterans where they are, offering one-on-one coordination and warm hand-offs to trusted partners who can address their individual needs. Together, we build a foundation of support that strengthens communities and prevents crises like suicide, homelessness, and isolation.”

AWP’s ultimate goal is to end VeteranAWP team members and participants gathered during group session at event. suicide by improving quality of life. Through the AWP Network – a national coalition of communities, organizations, and service providers ensuring every Veteran is known, connected, and supported where they live – AWP links Veterans to the resources they need. Using this coordinated, community-based model, AWP has identified 526 Veterans who disclosed some level of suicide risk since 2023 and connected them to support through its national network‑based model.

AWP’s key programs and initiatives include:

  • Community Integration: Community Integration connects with local veterans, families, and caregivers through a proactive, relationship-driven model and provides one-on-one navigation to housing, employment, mental health care, and social support, building sustainable community-based systems that improve quality of life and help Veterans thrive long after initial contact.
  • The AWP Network: The AWP Network is a national nonprofit coordination hub that aligns community-based services with state and national resources to solve real problems for service members, Veterans, and their families. Rather than adding another program, the Network aligns what already exists, turning fragmented services into a coordinated, Veteran-centered ecosystem.
  • Know a Vet? Tell a Vet!: This peer-to-peer initiative launched on Jan. 5, 2026, to help connect Veterans with trusted resources so every Veteran is aware of AWP and has support when needed. The program uses a straightforward signup process that enables Champions to view their reach and impact within the referral network.
  • Corporate Veteran Initiative: This program provides businesses with resources to help Veterans thrive in the workplace.
  • Operation Deep Dive™: AWP is partnered with Duke University on this community-based study focused on understanding factors that lead to suicide, self-harm, overdose, and other premature deaths among Veterans.

Access to health care is TriWest’s top priority as the contractor for military and Veteran care. Access to health care, however, is just one critical need for the Veteran population. With intertwining missions, TriWest and AWP’s partnership strengthens one another’s work.

“Supporting organizations such as America’s Warrior Partnership allows us to further our mission to make a difference for those who serve or have served our nation,” said Donna Hoffmeier, TriWest’s Senior Vice President, Strategic Communications and Advocacy.

Since 2014, AWP has worked across the nation to proactively engage Veterans, their families, and caregivers before a crisis occurs. Through a network of more than 4,000 local, public, and private partners, AWP has served more than 80,000 Veterans and their families, ensuring they have access to the resources and relationships that help them thrive.
