The American Legion held its 103rd National Convention this year in Milwaukee, WI and TriWest Healthcare Alliance (TriWest) was honored to attend as an Emerald sponsor.

The American Legion is the nation’s largest organization of U.S. military Veterans, and the convention is its largest annual meeting, with delegates from each of the Legion’s 55 departments attending. The group is responsible for determining the Legion’s programming, setting membership dues and electing a national commander and five national vice commanders to serve until the next convention. All of this takes place amidst memorable events, talented performances and important meetings designed around Veteran health, well-being and quality of life.
This year’s convention did not disappoint. The agenda was packed with meetings and workshops on important topics ranging from education benefits and Veteran employment to Veteran homelessness and suicide prevention. Hiring Our Heroes hosted a career fair and bands and color guards from around the country displayed their talents through contests and performances.

TriWest and the American Legion have a shared passion for taking care of our country’s military members and Veterans. At last year’s convention, the American Legion presented TriWest with the prestigious Large Employer of Veterans Award in recognition of the company’s strong support of Veteran employment. This year, TriWest was proud to once again stand with the American Legion in support of its tireless work on behalf of our nation’s heroes.
